At about 8pm every night, I get the biggest craving for something sweet. And when that craving hits, it needs to be fixed immediately. Meaning, I don’t have the patience to wait 45 minutes for brownies to bake and cool, and I don’t have the energy to walk out into the world to get anything.
That’s when this 5 Minute Cinnamon Sugar Toast comes in mighty handy.
It’s a super quick treat that literally takes 5 minutes and is unlike any cinnamon sugar toast you’ve had before.
I grew up eating cinnamon sugar toast, but it was NOTHING like this toast.
THIS cinnamon sugar toast completely changes the cinnamon sugar toast game. Here’s how:
- Similar to the bread I used for my Prosciutto BLT, I toast it in a pan with lots of coconut oil. It keeps the bread much softer than toasting in a toaster and adds much more toasty flavor.
- The bread is cut thick so there’s plenty of chewy soft toast middle to devour.
- It’s buttered (with coconut oil) twice. Once when toasting in the pan and then once after to help the cinnamon sugar to stick.
Put all of those things together and you have one amazing piece of toast! The ULTIMATE cinnamon sugar toast, as I like to call it.
Let’s not forget the main reason we eat cinnamon sugar toast though – you get to eat straight up sugar on toast!
I know, I know. Not the healthiest thing right? The good news is that you can adjust the amount you sprinkle on. There’s plenty of cinnamon to bring the flavor through, so feel free to lighten up how much you add if you’re trying to be good.
Butttt if you’re feeling bad, as I usually am around 8pm pretty much everyday, sprinkle on as much cinnamon sugar goodness as you want.
I won’t tell anyone!
This recipe makes 2 toasts, but you can easily double or triple it if you’re feeding more than 2. If you have a bigger pan you can toast 2-4 at a time!
Yay for speedy treats!
This recipe makes an amazing late night snack, dessert, or an indulgent little breakfast! Cut it thick, pile it high, and sprinkle with abandon! You won’t be sorry.
As always, if you try this recipe, give me a shout! Leave a comment, and be sure to take a picture and tag it #peachandthecobbler on Instagram so I can see how it went!
Enjoy!

Peach
- 2 slices of white loaf bread, cut thick (I used a white loaf from Whole Foods)
- 5 tablespoons coconut oil, softened
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- Mix 1 teaspoon cinnamon with 2 tablespoons granulated sugar in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Heat a medium-large pan over medium heat. While the pan is heating, butter 1 side of each slice of bread with 1 tablespoon softened coconut oil per side.
- When the pan is hot, place buttered side down. Butter the other side of both slices with coconut oil, being careful not to touch the pan. Toast for about 2 minutes per side or until golden.
- Remove from pan and butter each slice with a little more coconut oil (~1 teaspoon or so).
- Sprinkle each slice with desired amount of cinnamon sugar.
- Devour & enjoy immediately!
*Save leftover cinnamon/sugar mixture in a small container and use for future toast.
